Hardware at TRACTIAN
The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products, that can be produced at a mass scale.
What you'll do
As a Senior Hardware Engineer you are part of the Research & Development (R&D) department. This multidisciplinary team includes embedded developers and CAD designers. You and your colleagues bear the responsibility for product development of our sensors. You will participate in the development of new products, investigate problems with the current hardware and propose improvements so that our customers get the best product. When necessary, you will also support the process of certification in countries such as US, Mexico and Brazil. In addition, you will work closely with our production department and help them to optimize the production process.
Responsibilities
Design and develop complex hardware systems and components, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and cost targets, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize the overall product.
Improve our devices design PCBs, elaborate jigs and develop product cases that meet certifications and usability requirements
Design of Hardware Solutions cooperate with Hardware vendors, design new generations of devices
Troubleshoot complex Client problems collect required evidence, locate the problem, debug software and hardware, deliver RCA to Engineers
Develop new features select and purchase components, code MCU drivers
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware engineering and electronics
Proficiency in PCB design and layout using Altium Designer or similar software
Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity analysis
Knowledge of analog circuit design and simulation tools such as SPICE
Familiarity with microcontroller-based systems and firmware development
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and testing
Familiarity with industry standards and compliance testing (e.g. FCC, CE, UL)
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout review tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Cadence)
Familiarity with hardware design for low-power and battery-operated devices
Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA)
