The product organization develops infrastructure, databases, apps and services using IoT data. Our Developers and Engineers work together to make services and databases work as a core asset across the company. Our work is ingrained in Tractian’s decision-making process, in the efficiency of our operations and services, and in the industry-leading experience we provide our consumers.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for making machines more reliable by combining three key shifts in the industry: Analytics, Internet of Things and User Experience. The intersection of these trends allows Tractian to provide machines with a mechanical nervous system and the awareness to optimize their own health, thereby accelerating human productivity and safety.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for incremental improvements of our frontend and backend microservices that interact with our databases and customers;
Create and improve new data ingestion, wrangling, storaging tool and services;
Improve Python, JS/TS codes present in the main application today;
Be part of a fastly growing data engineering team;
Architect, develop, and operate our data architecture and frameworks;
Deliver scalable, testable, maintainable, and high-quality code;
Help drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve services quality;
Work extensively with AWS and technology;
Facilitate and drive collaboration with developers and stakeholders to seek exciting and results-oriented user-centric data problems;
Requirements
Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g. Javascript) and ability pick up new tech skills independently;
Kafka, Apache Parquet, MongoDB, Postgres;
Comfort working with, and learning, a variety of tech stacks;
Comfort with ambiguity, being participative and proactive in discussions;
Comfortable with complex SQL and CQL;
Ability to understand business needs, trade-offs, developing and prioritizing solutions;
Conceptually familiar with AWS cloud resources(S3, VPC, EC2, RDS,...);
