Hardware at TRACTIAN
The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products, that can be produced at a mass scale.
What you'll do
As a Senior Hardware Certifications Engineer, your job is to become skilled at standard operating procedures and quality management systems, like those required by regulatory agencies such as UL, FCC, IFT, ANATEL, INMETRO, and IEC. You will work alongside our best minds on developing and adapting our devices to meet strict international criteria, aiding the company in its mission to modernize the factory floor worldwide.
Responsibilities
Ensuring our hardware components and systems comply with industry standards and regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, manufacturing, and product management, to ensure certification guidelines are followed throughout the product development lifecycle.
Coordinate and execute certification tests, both in-house and with external laboratories, to verify compliance with relevant standards.
Generate comprehensive test plans, protocols, and reports to document certification efforts and outcomes.
Work closely with hardware engineering, firmware engineering, and software engineering teams to ensure alignment of design and development activities with certification goals.
Identify and interpret applicable certification requirements and develop strategies to achieve and maintain compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware certification.
Expertise in FCC, CE, IFT, UL Markings, IEC, and other regulatory compliance standards.
Experience with IECEx, ATEX, and other hazardous locations certifications.
Strong understanding of safety and functioning electronics standards and certifications such as IEC 61010 and IEC 61557-12.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 procedures and requirements.
Experience with EMC, IME and other RF compliance tests.
Fluent English proficiency.
Bonus Points
Familiarity with HALT and ALT testing (temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.).
Experience with calibration and accuracy standards such as ISO 17025.
Fluent Spanish proficiency.
