Data Science at TRACTIAN

The Data organization develops infrastructure, statistical models, and products using IoT data. Our Scientists and Engineers work together to make data—and insights derived from data—a core asset across the company. Our work is ingrained in Tractian’s decision-making process, in the efficiency of our operations and insights, and in the industry-leading experience we provide our consumers.


What you'll do

As an Analytics Engineer, you will bridge the gap between data engineering and data analysis by designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and models that empower business teams with actionable insights. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, optimize data workflows, and enable self-service analytics, driving data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to transform raw data into usable formats.

Design, implement, and optimize data models to support reporting and analytical needs.

Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Ensure data quality and consistency across various sources by implementing data validation and cleansing techniques.

Work with cloud-based data warehouses and analytics platforms to manage and store large datasets.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliable and timely delivery of data.

Document data processes, workflows, and best practices to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in Data Science or Analytics.

Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL.

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).

Experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS Redshift.

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.

Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.

Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Fluent in English.
