One Platform, Full Visibility: Proximo Spirits' Path to Predictive Maintenance

At a large-scale bottling facility, the distance between a reactive maintenance program and a fully planned one comes down to having the right foundation. Proximo Spirits found theirs.

Proximo Spirits operates one of the beverage industry's most recognized portfolios. At their Lawrenceburg, Indiana bottling facility, keeping production moving means keeping complex bottling lines running reliably around the clock.

When the management team first assessed the facility's maintenance operation, the opportunity was clear: with the right tools and structure in place, there was significant room to get ahead of failures and build a program that matched the scale and ambition of the operation.

Challenge

Like many large manufacturing facilities, Proximo was managing a high volume of equipment across a demanding production environment. Maintenance requests were handled in real time, which made it difficult to track work systematically, calculate failure patterns, or get a clear picture of what downtime was actually costing the business. Without a centralized system tying it all together, the team was making decisions without the full picture.

The equipment itself added complexity. Bottling lines run hard, and when something goes wrong, the impact on production is immediate. A single unmonitored pump failure had already resulted in a costly replacement. The maintenance team was skilled and committed, but managing a large asset base reactively left limited bandwidth for the preventive work that would have made the biggest difference.

The goal was to build a foundation that could support a truly planned maintenance program, give the team real-time visibility into asset health, and get ahead of failures before they reached the production floor.

Solution

Proximo deployed Tractian solutions across the Lawrenceburg facility: condition monitoring sensors, a fully integrated CMMS, and operational monitoring to track how temperature and humidity shifts throughout the day impact machinery reliability and belt wear. The result was a single, unified view of asset health across the entire operation.

Now, instead of calendar-based PMs that send technicians to service machines on a fixed schedule regardless of actual need, Proximo has moved to condition-based maintenance, triggering work orders based on real machine operating hours and sensor data. The engineering team used Tractian AI to convert old PDF manuals into specific, step-by-step digital procedures with pass/fail checklists for floor technicians. Work orders moved to tablets. The team went from managing requests on the fly to operating from a clear, prioritized view of what needed attention and when.

“We finally have a system that brings everything together. For the first time, our team has real visibility into what's happening on the floor and the tools to act on it before it becomes a problem. The impact has been immediate and it's only getting better.”

Impact

Within the first months, Tractian surfaced insights and health reports that gave plant leadership the confidence to expand coverage across additional critical bottling lines, driven entirely by early results. Developing bearing issues, lubrication problems, and mechanical faults have been caught and addressed before escalating, replacing reactive scrambles with planned, prioritized interventions. Every catch is now documented, giving the team a history of savings and decisions that simply didn't exist before.

The broader impact has been cultural as much as operational. Technicians now work from digital work orders and real-time platform data, and the maintenance team has the structure and visibility to operate proactively across a complex, high-volume facility.

What's Next

Proximo's leadership has been clear about where they want to take this: a fully planned maintenance operation where the team is consistently ahead of breakdowns, and every maintenance decision is backed by data. With corporate alignment behind the full-suite approach and early results already validating the investment, the path forward is one of continued improvement.
